Instructions

    • 1

Measure out six 8-inch pieces of 20-gauge square soft wire with the ruler, and cut them out with the wire cutters. Line the six pieces up and tape down both ends to form the wire base. Measure four inches from one of the ends with the ruler, and mark the middle of the wire base with a marker.

    • 2

Cut out a 5-inch piece of 22-gauge half-round hard wire with the wire cutters. Wind it around the middle mark you just made with the flat-nose pliers.

    • 3

Measure out 1/4-inch and 1/-2-inch from both edges of the middle 22-gauge binding you just made with the ruler, and mark these four measurements with the marker. Flip the wire base over and make the same four marks with the ruler and marker.

    • 4

Set the gem below the middle 22-gauge bind, and wrap the right side of the wire base around the gem with the flat-nose pliers. Wrap the left side above the right side of the base and around the gem with the pliers to form a wire circle; the gem should now be wrapped completely inside the circle.

    • 5

Straighten out both sides of the wire with the flat-nose pliers until they lie parallel with the gem circle. Cut out a piece of 22-gauge square hard wire with the wire cutters, and wrap it below the circle with the flat-nose pliers to secure the wires there.

    • 6

Remove the tape from the edges of the parallel wires by hand. Cut out a piece of 22-gauge square hard wire with the wire cutters, and secure the edges of the wires together by wrapping it around them with the flat-nose pliers.

    • 7

Put the wire-wrapped jewelry on your body or place it around your home for display.
