How to Use a Firewood Holder
While many people prefer to store firewood in elevated stacks, a firewood holder helps to conserve space. The firewood holder keeps the wood clean by preventing it from making contact with the ground. Firewood holders generally feature a weather-treated steel design. Stacking your firewood too close together will eliminate airflow. Firewood that hasn't had enough time to season will emit excess smoke. When storing your firewood holder outside, cover the wood with a waterproof tarp.

1
Transport the firewood holder to your ideal location. Lower the legs of the holder onto solid ground. Place one piece of firewood horizontally across the bottom bars of the holder.
-
2
Place a second piece of firewood adjacent to the first piece in a horizontal position. Repeat the process to cover the bottom bars with a row of firewood. Align a second row of firewood on top with the pieces parallel to the first row.

Repeat this stacking process to fill the interior of the firewood holder. Avoid stacking the wood higher than four feet to prevent the rows from collapsing. Place a waterproof tarp over the holder if it is outside.
