How to Watch R&B Music Videos From the Eighties on YouTube
The term "rhythm and blues," or R&B, was crafted in 1947 by "Billboard" magazine. The style of music that defines R&B, however, goes back much further. According to the Shades of Blue website, R&B music can officially be traced back to the early 1900s. Influenced by ragtime, the deep South, church music and soul music, R&B has evolved throughout the years. In the 1980s, R&B took on a more contemporary style with the emergence of rap, hip and hop and the launch of MTV. Although the 1980s are long over and music videos rarely make it to television, R&B fans can still watch their favorites online at popular sites like YouTube.
