The 450B "Crawler" Dozer is a type of heavy equipment from John Deere. The transmission in the 450B Dozer is manual, meaning that you have to shift from one gear to another as you drive the unit. It won't automatically shift gears depending on how fast you're going. The transmission on the unit has four speeds including high, normal, low and reverse. Switching from one to the other only takes a few seconds.
Use your foot to push down on the clutch pedal on your John Deere 450B dozer. With the clutch pedal all the way to the floor, use your hand to push the shifter one position into "normal" speed. You can now use your brake and gas pedals to move your John Deere 450B dozer in any direction you'd like.
Take your foot off of the gas or brake pedals when you decide to shift gears once again.
Push down on the clutch pedal again and push down on the shifter another position to shift into "high" speed. If you want to go in reverse, pull up on the shifter once to move back into "normal" speed and pull up another time to move into reverse.
