How to Refill Ink for Canons
Not every Canon ink cartridge can be refilled, but many of the BC, BCI, BJC, CLI and a few of the PG and CL model cartridges can be refilled. The method for refilling differs per cartridge. Some cartridges require more or less ink than others. To refill a cartridge, you need to purchase printer ink. If you purchase a refill kit, it comes with all of the supplies you need -- syringes, thumb drills, outlet covers and ink.
Things You'll Need

Fill a syringe with 20 ml. of black ink.

Inject the needle of the syringe into the vent hole on the top right of the cartridge. Pause occasionally to allow the sponge to absorb the ink.

-
6
Replace the cartridge into the Canon printer and run it through one to three cleaning cycles.

12
Create a hole in the circle labeled "PUSH" on the cartridge label with a thumb drill. This is the fill hole.
-
13
Insert the needle in the syringe. Insert the needle into the ink bottle and fill the syringe with ink. Inject 6 ml. of black ink or 3 ml. of color ink.
-
14
Put on a latex glove. Cover the outlet hole on the underside of the cartridge with your finger.
-
15
Inject the ink into the cartridge fill hole slowly with the needle. Then wait 15 seconds for the sponge to absorb the ink. Add an additional 2 ml. of black ink or 1 ml. of color ink into the chamber with the syringe.
-
16
Seal the fill hole with a drop of hot glue. If you ordered a kit, use the small set screw and Allen wrench provided to seal the fill hole. Now you can replace the cartridge in the Canon printer and run it through a cleaning cycle.
