How to Find Free Bible Study Lessons on Reaping the Harvest

How to Find Free Bible Study Lessons on Reaping the Harvest thumbnail
There are many free Bible study resources available to learn about reaping the harvest.

Reaping the harvest was something that happened in ancient Israel every year. Wheat and other grains were harvested using a scythe or sickle tool. Both Old and New Testament prophets and teachers used the image of a worker harvesting grain to symbolize many things: doing God's work, experiencing God's blessings and receiving the just consequences of one's actions, including, in some cases, death. There are many free Bible study resources on this topic available on church and ministry websites.

Begin by checking your church or denomination's website, or the website or library of a Christian college. Many have free online Bible study resources available for immediate download in either printed or recorded form. Many can also be requested and received by mail. Bible passages relevant to reaping as an indication of God's blessing include Genesis 26:12, Exodus 23:16 and Deuteronomy 16:15.

Check interdenominational ministry websites. These organizations are not affiliated with a specific church or denomination, but are often associated with a specific Christian preacher. Many make Bible study resources, sermons and other materials freely available to downloaded. Bible passages that use reaping a harvest as a symbol of working for God include Matthew 9: 37-38, John 4: 35-36 and Romans 1:13.

Search for Christian clubs or ministries on the Internet. Such clubs might be focused on groups such as high school or college students, singles or seniors. Others have a specific ministry focus, such as recovery from addiction or help for the poor. The websites for such organizations often have free Bible resources available. Bible passages that use reaping a harvest as a metaphor for receiving just consequences are Proverbs 18:20 and Galatians 6:9.
