How to Make a Zipped File

Zipping a file means that you compress several folders or files together within one file. If you need a number of documents to stay together when you send an email or share folders between one computer and another from your flash drive, it is best to create a zipped file before you send or transfer the individual files. The computer requires no special features or programs for you to create zip files.

Instructions

    • 1

Drag all of files you want to zip into one folder if they are not already there.

    • 2

Right-click the folder and point to "Send To," then select "Compressed (zipped) Folder."

    • 3

Click "Rename" on the file, and type in a new name.
