How Do I Change a Tail Light on a SunL Scooter?

No big toolbox is necessary for this repair, just a screwdriver.

SunL scooters are manufactured by SunL Motorsports, based in Irving, Texas. In additional to scooters, they produce ATVs, dirt bikes and other outdoor adventure vehicles. One of the joys of owning a scooter, dirt bike or ATV is being able to work on it yourself when a repair job comes along. The simple construction and relatively low cost of parts makes this an approachable hobby. One of the easiest do-it-yourself fixes for a SunL scooter is replacing a tail light.

• Phillips head screwdriver

Instructions

1. Look in your SunL scooter's owner's manual or go to a local dealer with your model, make and year handy to determine which replacement bulb you'll need. SunL makes a number of different scooters, so be sure you get the right replacement tail light bulb.

2. Park your scooter on a flat surface and turn off the motor. Let it cool for 15 minutes before working on the tail light.

3. Take off the tail light lens by removing the screws holding the lens to the tail light assembly. Use a Phillips head screwdriver for this task. Be sure to place the screws somewhere safe during the repair because they are small and could easily be lost.

4. Reach into the assembly and grab the old tail light bulb. Turn it to the left a quarter-turn, then pull it free from the socket. Discard the old bulb.

5. Insert the replacement bulb into the socket and turn it to the right to secure it into place. Replace the tail light lens with the screws to complete this repair.
