Use the latest version of Internet Explorer to improve performance.

In an effort to improve performance and security, Microsoft continues to develop Internet Explorer and release new versions of the program. If you have not upgraded Internet Explorer since you set up your computer, you may be using an old version that is less secure. If you are unsure if your program is out of date, determine its version and compare it with the latest version available on Microsoft's website.

Instructions

    • 1

Click "Start," "All Programs" and then click "Internet Explorer."

    • 2

Click "Help" on the Internet Explorer toolbar, then click "About Internet Explorer." A new window opens with information about Internet Explorer.

    • 3

Find the set of numbers labeled "Version" in the new window. This is the Internet Explorer version you are using.
