Instructions

    • 1

Pour 4 cups of all purpose flour into a large mixing bowl, and add 1 cup of salt.

    • 2

Pour 3 cups of water into the bowl, and combine the mixture well with a wooden spoon. The resulting mixture will be slightly runny.

    • 3

Cut strips of gauze to measure 12 to 15 inches long.

    • 4

Coat your entire pregnant belly with petroleum jelly, or a similar petroleum jelly alternative. Cover all areas that will be coated in the flour and water mixture.

    • 5

Dip the gauze strips into the flour mixture, and drape the strips, one at a time, over your belly. Cover the whole belly with three or four layers of the coated strips.

    • 6

Allow the cast to dry completely, which can take up to an hour.

    • 7

Pull the cast off of your belly. You can decorate the belly cast with acrylic paint, or you can leave it natural.
