How to Link Gamertag to MSN Passport

Designed by Microsoft, the Xbox and Xbox 360 introduced game enthusiasts to gamertags and gamer scores. Gamertags are used by Xbox to identify an individual player, giving the person a pseudo-name other players can identify. Since Microsoft also has its own email accounts, players can link their MSN Passport (WIndows Live ID) to view their contact lists and receive messages from their MSN Passport friends and their Xbox Live friends.

Instructions

    • 1

Visit your MSN Hotmail or MSN Passport homepage. Enter both your username and password to sign into your MSN Passport account.

    • 2

Turn on your Xbox 360. Scroll up and select "My Xbox." Select the slide titled "Xbox live gamertag." Press "A."

    • 3

    • 4

Scroll down and select "Windows Live ID." From the Windows Live ID, select "Change Windows Live ID" to the MSN Passport e-mail address.
