How to Erase Lines From a Picture in Open Office Draw

Open Office is a free, open source software suite offering a number of programs for typical computing tasks. Open Office Draw is part of that software suite and includes assorted tools for designing and editing images. The bottom of the Draw screen displays a toolbar with many of the commonly used features, such as a line drawing tool that features several different line shapes. However, Draw does not include an eraser to remove any drawn lines. There is a way, however, to delete any unwanted lines from your Draw project.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to your Open Office Draw file and double click it to launch the file in Draw.

    • 2

Locate the unwanted line in your Draw file.

    • 3

Click on the line so that a small blue square appears on both ends of the line.

    • 4

Press the "Backspace" key on your keyboard to erase the line from your Draw picture.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to erase the line from your picture but reuse it in a different location on the image, right-click on the line instead of pressing the "Backspace" key. Choose the "Cut" option, then press "Ctrl-V" to paste it back into the picture. Use your mouse to drag the line to the desired location on the picture.
