How to Optimize Graphics for Engraving
Sending a graphic file to an engraver can be intimidating. You never know if the file will be transferred properly into the engraving. However, you can follow some suggested guidelines to optimize your final product, and to save the time and the inconvenience of resubmitting graphic files to the engraver.

1
Choose an intelligent graphic. Your engraving will likely come without any color. As such, choose a file that carries appeal outside of the confines of color. Look at your file in simple black and white. If the image suites your taste, then move forward.

2
Maximize your resolution. If you simply grabbed a graphic file from the internet, you may be in trouble. Small files do not allow for engraving with precision. As such, try to obtain the highest resolution file possible. Generally, the larger files have the best resolution.

Make it compatible. Contact the engraving company and ask out how they want your graphic file to be formatted. Popular options include vector and raster files.
