How do I Bounce the Front End of a 4X4 Chevy?
Bouncing the front end of a 4x4 Chevy is a fairly accurate way to test the front shock absorbers. The purpose of a shock absorber is to keep the front tires in contact with the ground over rough terrain. If a shock is blown, it won't have the ability to hold the tire down. By bouncing the front end, you can tell if the shocks have blown based on how quickly the bouncing stops. If the 4x4 Chevy's front end stops moving after two or three bounces, the shocks are good.
