Bobcat Breaker Operating Instructions
A Bobcat Breaker is a hydraulic powered implement used to break concrete, asphalt, rocks and other materials into smaller, more manageable chunks. The implement hooks to the mounting plate and the hydraulic drive hoses of a Bobcat. A 3- to 6-foot metal shaft, usually 4 to 8 inches in diameter, is attached to the hydraulic pump of the breaker. The vibrating shaft is driven into the material by the forearms of the Bobcat. Operating a breaker is simple. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Check the breaker to make sure it is properly attached to the implement plate of the Bobcat. Check the hydraulic hose running from the breaker's pump to the Bobcat's pump. Check the fittings to make sure they are properly attached at each end, and check the hose for leaks.

2
Get in the Bobcat, pull down the safety bar and fasten your seat belt. Start the Bobcat's engine. Raise the breaker off the ground high enough that you have a line of sight to your work area.

3
Advance the breaker over the material to be broken up. Start the hydraulic pump of the Bobcat to engage the breaker's pump. The breaker pole will begin to vibrate. The button for starting the Bobcat's pump is usually found on the top of the right joystick, and it usually red.
-
4
Lower the forearms of the Bobcat and align the breaker directly over the material. To lower the breaker, push forward on the right joystick of the Bobcat. Pronate or supinate the pole back and forth until it is perpendicular to the ground by moving the right joystick right and left. You want the breaker pole straight up and down. Drive the vibrating breaker into the material.
-
5
Start at the edge of the material. If you begin in the middle, you will stress the hydraulics of your breaker. If you are breaking up concrete, for example, do not start the breaker in the middle of the pad. Start at the edge, break up some concrete, move forward, break more concrete, etc., working your way toward the center, and then to the other side.
