Instructions

    • 1

Measure the windows with your measuring tape to be sure you have the correct length of Christmas light strands. Purchase strands of mini lights to frame your windows.

    • 2

Locate the power source nearest to your windows and test it to be sure it works. Keep the extension cord plugged in.

    • 3

Plug in the strand of lights to your extension cord to be sure every lightbulb is working. If a bulb is out, unplug the lights and replace the bulb. Once the lights have been tested, unplug them while you are hanging them around your windows.

    • 4

Place the mini light adhesive strips around the frame of your window, about 12 inches apart from one another.

    • 5

Hold one of the lightbulb sockets with your thumb and forefinger, then lightly push it into the adhesive strip. It should pop in easily. Be careful not to touch the lightbulb while you are applying pressure, or the bulb can pop. Stretch the strand across the window frame until you reach the next adhesive strip, and repeat the process with the lightbulb socket that is closest to the strip. Continue until you have framed the entire window.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your window has a brick frame, brick clips can be used in place of the adhesive strips.

  • Be sure to use mini Christmas lights intended for outdoor use.

  • Keep the lights unplugged while you change the bulbs.
