Bing's map services may be more convenient to use than conventional maps.

Bing is a popular search engine created by Microsoft in 2009. Bing offers many search features, including the ability to search through images, videos, shopping links, news and maps. Bing offers many options in their Maps section, including the ability to view traffic, view businesses and get directions. However, for some users, the interface on Bing may seem confusing to navigate, especially if you inadvertently click on one of these options. Removing these options in Bing is relatively straightforward.

Instructions

    • 1

To navigate to the "Get Directions" page on the Bing page, click on the "Maps" option on the Bing homepage, and then click on "Get Directions" on the side bar (it will be written in Bold).

    • 2

To navigate away from the "Get Directions" page and return to the Bing Maps page locate a small "X" in the upper right-hand corner of the sidebar and click that "X" with your mouse. It will be located above the "Directions" field on the sidebar, but below the Bing search bar on the top of the page.

    • 3

If you would like to navigate to the Bing home page, either type "www.bing.com" into the URL space on your Web browser (where you type Web pages you would like to go to), or click on the Bing logo anywhere on the Bing Maps Web page.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be careful to click on the small "X" on the Web page. If you click the small "X" on your Web browser (located either in the upper left- or upper right-hand corner), you may close the entire browser.
