Google Maps is accessible from Internet browsers for the purpose of mapping locations and performing actions related to those locations. Users can locate nearby points of interest and view the layout of the surrounding neighborhood. Google Maps also features the ability to determine driving, walking, mass transit or bicycling directions to reach your destination. By entering your starting address and the address of you destination, you can determine how to effectively navigate on your chosen method of transportation.

      Open an Internet browser and navigate to the Google Maps website.

      Click "Get Directions" under the Google Maps icon at the top left of the window.

      Click the image under "Get Directions" that represents the method of travel you will use to complete your trip.

      Type your starting address into the text field next to the green "A" symbol.

      Type your destination address into the text field next to the green "B" symbol.

      Click the "Get Directions" button. The map on the right side of the screen shows an image of your route, while the column on the left side of the screen shows your traveling directions as text.

Tips & Warnings

  • After you have created your directions page in your Internet browser, click the "Print" link above the map image. Customize the printed directions to display as "Text only," "Maps" or "Street View."
