Instructions

    • 1

Select the ideal location within your home for your security vault. Depending on what you plan to keep in there, it probably will not need to be too big. An unused closet would be adequate. Wherever you choose, it should be a space that has only one doorway, solid walls and no windows.

    • 2

Empty the closet of everything that is in there. A security vault should have nothing in it but that which you want kept secure.

    • 3

Remove the existing door and install a security one. The security door will need to be the same size as the regular one and should be installed according to the maunfacturer's instructions.

    • 4

Replace the traditional woodwork that surrounds the door frame with a thin metal kick board, which will prevent anyone from prying the door open. Metal kick boards can be found at home improvement stores and are easily installed.

    • 5

Purchase a wireless security camera and attach it to the wall facing the direction you want it to. It is up to you whether you install it on the inside or the outside of the vault.

    • 6

Install the software that came with the camera onto your computer so that you can monitor any activities that the camera records.
