How to Use Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 to Update an Existing Website
Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 is a tool for developing and maintaining websites. The application provides tools that allow you to build a website as well as update your existing Internet files. The interface also provides a means for organizing and managing your files in the same structure as they exist on your Web server. You must have authorization to the server that contains the files you desire to update.

Launch Dreamweaver and create a setup for your website if you do not already have one. Select the Site menu and choose "New Site." Click the "Basic" tab and enter the requested information. When prompted for the connection type, choose FTP. Enter your login information for the site. You can acquire this data from your server administrator or hosting provider if necessary.

Press the "Test Connection" button to verify a successful server connection.

Click on the "Local view" button located in the "Files" tab and change it to "Remote view" to see the existing files on the remote server. Select the files you want to edit and click the green down arrow to move these to your local computer. Change back to the "Local view." Locate the documents in the "Files" site folder and edit them as needed.

Click the top "File" menu and then "Preview in Browser" with a file open. Choose the browser in which you want to view your modified page.

Click to select the files you want to update and click the blue up arrow icon. The files are transferred to your Web server, overwriting the previous ones. Navigate to your website to see the modification online.
