How to Hook Up My Philips Flat-Screen LCD TV to My Laptop Through S-Video Cable

S-video cables transfer video feeds between devices. Philips flat-screen LCD TVs come with s-video inputs to enable connection with computers and other video sources. S-video cables do not carry audio signals, but you can still use your computer's speakers to play the audio. As long as your laptop has an s-video output, you can watch your digital videos and photos right on your Philips LCD TV in just a couple of minutes.

Instructions

1. Locate the S-video output on your computer. For laptops, they are often located on the side or rear of the computer's body. The port is circular in shape.

2. Find the S-video input on the rear panel of your Philips LCD TV.

3. Plug one end of the S-video cable into the port on your laptop, and connect the opposite side to the port on your Philips LCD TV.

4. Turn on your TV and press the "Input" button to cycle through the inputs for your TV. Stop when the image from your laptop appears on the TV screen.
