Spybot Installation
Spybot is a free anti-malware application available for Windows and Symbian platforms. The program provides periodic updates and improved features, allowing users to keep their computer protected against common computer threats. Typical files found include spyware programs, worms and Trojans. Prior to using Spybot on your computer, you must download and configure it within your operating system.

Download Spybot from its official website (see Resources) and save the installation file to your computer. Double-click its installation file to launch the program's setup wizard.

Select your preferred language from the drop-down menu and click "OK" to continue. Click "Next" to read the program's license agreement. Select "I Accept the Agreement" and click "Next" to proceed. Note that you must comply with the program's license terms to install and use the application.

Click "Next" once more to install the application to its default directory. Otherwise, click "Browse" to select an alternative location on your computer.

Select the "Full Installation" option from the drop-down menu that appears. Important and optional features include skins to change the program's appearance and the ability to download program updates during the installation procedure. Select or clear any option you wish to omit from the installation and click "Next."

Click "Next" to select the program's default "Start" menu folder. Otherwise, select the "Don't Create a Start Menu Folder" check box. Such option provides a program shortcut within the "Start" menu of your operating system.

Select or clear the optional settings, such as the addition of a desktop shortcut and a "Quick Launch" icon, which places a Spybot shortcut within the Task Bar.

Click "Next" followed by "Install" to initialize the program installation on your computer. Installation takes about three minutes to complete. Enable the "Run SpybotSD.exe" check box and click "Finish" to run the program. Otherwise, disable the option and launch the application at a later date.

Tips & Warnings
Use the program's "Search for Updates" function (found within its main interface) to obtain the latest definition files and features.
Perform a full scan at least once a week to ensure that no malware files reside on your computer.
