How Can I Make My Own Puzzle?
Make your own puzzle out of any type of paper image or pictures. Posters, prints of paintings and photographs work well for this project. For example, use a print of the painting "Mona Lisa" or "Starry Night" to make the puzzle. Because you draw the pieces, you can make them any size you want. If the puzzle is for a younger child, make the pieces larger. If taken care of, the puzzle lasts for years.
Things You'll Need
- 1/8-1/2 inch thick cardboard
- Rubber cement
- Picture
- Hobby knife
- Pencil
- Box
Instructions

1
Coat one side of a piece of thin cardboard with rubber cement.
-
2
Press the picture you want to use as the puzzle onto the rubber cement. Allow the picture to sit four to six hours for the rubber cement to dry.
-
-
3
Trim off any part of the image that over hangs the edge of the cardboard with a hobby knife.
-
4
Turn the cardboard to the side with no picture on it. Draw waved lines all over the back, both horizontally and vertically, to create the puzzle pieces.
-
5
Cut along the lines with the hobby knife.
-
6
Place the pieces inside of the box as you cut them out to prevent losing any.
