How do I Uninstall Photoshop?

Adobe Photoshop CS5 provides a powerful creative tool for tasks such as retouching and color-correcting photos, crafting digital composites, augmenting artwork you create in other programs and previsualizing website designs. Adobe product activation is a mandatory piracy-protection procedure built into the installation process. If you decide to uninstall your Adobe software in order to reinstall it on a new computer, make sure you follow the right sequence of steps to deactivate Photoshop and uninstall it completely. Otherwise, you may get an error message when you install and activate Photoshop on your new system.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can deactivate your software from inside the Photoshop application itself. Choose "Deactivate" from the "Help" menu. Make sure you have an active connection to the Internet or the deactivation process will fail.

  • If you're accustomed to dragging Macintosh applications to the Trash in order to delete them, forget about doing that with Photoshop CS5. Use the uninstaller capabilities built into the program installer so you won't have to worry about an incomplete uninstallation procedure.
