How to Make Your Own Lint Roller

If your clothes dryer is leaving lint on your clothing or your fabric furniture is covered with lint or pet hair, it can be difficult to remove. Dark-colored clothing and fleecy fabrics are especially susceptible to picking up lint and pet hair. If you do not own a lint roller or lint brush, you can make your own using household items.   • Clear packaging tape or duct tape
  • Small paint roller

      Cut a piece of tape long enough to wrap completely around the paint roller, leaving a half-inch extra for overlap.

      Wrap the tape securely around the roller, keeping the smooth side against the roller and the sticky side facing outward.

      Secure the tape to itself where it overlaps around the roller. Be sure it is wrapped tightly so it will stay in place during use.

      Roll the brush over clothing or cloth furniture to remove lint and pet hair.

Tips & Warnings

  • As with most lint rollers, you will need to replace the tape roll as it loses stickiness from picking up lint and hair.
