How to Remove Ranger 185 Boat Seats

Over the years, the seats on your Ranger 185 can become worn through normal wear and tear as well as accidents that lead to upholstery and frame damage. You may then find it necessary to remove your seats in order to repair or reupholster them.

Things You'll Need

• Socket wrench

Instructions

1. Look under a seat of your Ranger 185 and locate the mounting bolts that attach the seat to the frame of the boat.

2. Use a socket wrench to remove the bolts. Begin by removing the rear mounting bolts.

3. Remove the remaining seat mounting bolts attached to the front base of the seat. Place the bolts in a safe place such as on a magnetic tray.

4. Carefully lift the seat away from its mount and out of your Ranger. Ensure you do not damage the boat as you lift the seat out of place.
