You may have unpacked all the pieces of your Savanna Baby Loft Convertible Crib, model 343-8200 from J. C. Penney & Co., only to find the assembly instructions have gone missing. Perhaps you are not gifted in the art of assembly -- and you know you have no room for error when assembling your newborn's bed. Avoiding mistakes can prevent a serious crib accident. The manufacturer recommends a two-person assembly and reading the instructions completely before beginning.
Things You'll Need
- Left front post
- Right front post
- Daybed rail
- 4 Allen bolts, 6 by 70 mm
- Allen wrench
- Left end assembly
- Right end assembly
- Back assembly
- 9 Allen bolts, 6 by 50 mm
- Mattress support
- 13 Allen bolts, 6 by 20 mm

Confirm that your package includes all of the listed pieces and hardware. If you are missing any pieces, call the manufacturer to request replacement parts (see Resources section).
Attach the front posts to the daybed rail by inserting the dowels protruding from the daybed rail into the pilot holes on the front posts. Secure the pieces using the four 70 mm Allen bolts. Tighten the bolts with the Allen wrench until they will no longer rotate.
Attach the end assemblies to the sides of the front posts with pilot holes using four of the 50 mm Allen bolts. Tighten the bolts with the Allen wrench until they will no longer rotate. Attach the back assembly to the other end of the end assemblies using four 50 mm Allen bolts. Tighten the bolts with the Allen wrench until they will no longer rotate.
Place the mattress support inside the crib with the arms on each corner extended out and up. Have a helper hold the mattress support in place while you attach it to the crib. Line up the arms with the lowest set of pilot holes on the inside of the front posts and back assembly. Attach the arms to these pieces using the 20 mm Allen bolts, tightening them with the Allen wrench until they will no longer rotate.
Place the front assembly between the front posts and on the daybed rail. Attach the top and bottom of the front assembly to the front posts using the 70 mm Allen bolts. Tighten the bolts with the Allen wrench until they will no longer rotate.
Store all leftover pieces in a safe place. You will need them later to convert the crib into a daybed, then a full bed.
