Fencing Without Digging

Fencing Without Digging thumbnail
Install fence without digging a hole.

The traditional method of fence installation requires that a hole be dug with a shovel or pick. A wood or metal post is then placed in the hole. Concrete is then added around the hole or dirt is back filled and packed in place to hold the post securely. With the use of a specialized metal post it is possible to install a fence without the need for digging. Does this Spark an idea?

Position a T post in the desired location. Place a T post driver over the top of the T post.

    • 3

Raise the driver and allow its weight to drop down on top of the T post and drive it into the ground. Drive the T post at least 2 feet deep for stability.

    • 4

Install T posts every 10 feet along the path that was determined for the fence to follow.

    • 5

Attach wire fence, metal livestock fence or plastic mesh to the T posts. Use aluminum wire to secure wire fence to the posts or plastic zip ties to attach plastic mesh to the posts.
