How to Cheat at Age of Empires

Age of Empires is a challenging game, and sometimes even the lowest difficulty setting is a bit daunting. These tricks will improve your score and keep your blood pressure within healthy limits.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Home Computers
  • Microsoft Windows
  • Age Of Empires Software
Step1
Access Chat Mode and enter the commands in ALL CAPS to input these cheat codes.
Step2
Type FLYING DUTCHMAN when you've built the most powerful navy in the history of the world, but enemy invaders are overrunning your cities. Your Juggernaught will now be able to move over land.
Step3
Type ICBM to extend the range of your Ballista to 100 if you've located an enemy army, but you have nothing close (or strong) enough to defeat it.
Step4
Type STEROIDS when the enemy always seems to have an army about two to three times the size of yours. This will accelerate your production.
Step5
Type REVEAL MAP to display the entire game area if the enemy always sneaks up behind you as you wander around blindly looking for stuff.
Step6
Type PEPPERONI PIZZA after you've drafted all of your farmers into the army and your people are starving. You'll give yourself 1,000 food.
Step7
Type WOODSTOCK to give yourself 1,000 wood when you need to build a navy, but you've already cut down every tree in your civilization.
Step8
Type QUARRY if you'd like to build a Pyramid, but things have gotten so bad you can't even find enough rocks lying around. You'll get 1,000 stone.
Step9
Type COINAGE to give yourself 1,000 gold. You're greedy, and you don't mind admitting it to yourself.
Step10
Type HARI KARI because you've been kicked around the map over hundreds of years of simulated history and you've had about enough. This'll destroy all of your units and structures.
Step11
Type DIE DIE DIE to wipe out every civilization on the map (including yours) if you've had enough, but you're a little too spiteful for honorable suicide.
Step12
Type HOME RUN when you're playing a campaign game, but can't get past a particularly tough scenario no matter how hard (or often) you try. You'll achieve instant victory in the scenario.

Tips & Warnings

  • Maybe you wouldn't have to cheat so much if the game were a little easier. Start out with two-player games so the computer players can't gang up on you as easily.
  • The computer basically cheats, too, by cranking out units at an unbelievable rate. To match the computer, focus on multi-unit structures as early in the game as possible.
  • The computer delights in attacking innocent civilians. Protect your Villagers at all times.

on 1/13/2006 'killx' kills yourself. 'kill2' kills player 2, etc. Meduca turns villagers into dark riders when they die and then into catapults when they die.
Dark rain seperately turns composite bowman into trees when they are standing still and they can walk on water.
