How to Make an Archery Target Out of Phone Books
The sport of archery is one that requires concentration and practice if you want to become good at it. If you enjoy archery or are involved in the sport, you may find yourself in a position where you want to practice at home. This means you will need bows and arrows as well as an archery target. If you don't have an archery target, you can easily make one with the help of phone books and archery target paper.

1
Obtain enough phone books to make a tower two to three feet high. It doesn't matter whether they are old or new. The thicker the phone books the fewer you will need to collect.
-
2
Stack the phone books on top of each other until they are approximately 2 feet high. Make sure all the spines are facing the same direction and the edges are lined up.
-
-
3
Secure the books together with duct tape. Start at the bottom of one side of the stack and bring the tape up that side, over the top of the stack, down the opposite side and underneath the stack back to the position where you started from. Repeat this process until the sides, top and bottom of the phone book stack are completely covered with duct tape.
-
4
Obtain a paper printout of an archery target. You can get these from sporting goods stores that sell archery equipment or you can download and print them off the Internet.
-
5
Place the phone book stack on a shelf, table or chair up against a wall.
-
6
Attach the archery target paper to the stack of phone books with tape. Make sure it is attached to the side where the pages are visible. This will be the side opposite the side of the phone book spines.
