How to Install a Rear Wheel on a Triumph TR7 Tiger Motorcycle
The Triumph TR7 Tiger motorcycle rear wheel is similar to other types of motorcycle wheels in that the disc brake rotor and sprocket are on opposite sides of the wheel. The left muffler, spindle and drive-chain link that are removed when the wheel is dismounted are reattached during the installation process. Install the rear wheel on a Triumph TR7 Tiger motorcycle with the bike parked on its center stand or a repair stand.
Instructions

1
Position the rear wheel behind the motorcycle with the sprocket on the same side as the drive chain. Roll the wheel forward, halfway between the rear frame arms.
-
2
Swing the disc brake caliper on the rear frame tube into a direct alignment with the disc rotor on the rear wheel. Ease the wheel forward until the caliper and brake pads pass onto the inner and outer faces of the disc rotor.

3
Position the end of a pry bar under the back edge of the rear tire. Lift straight up on the bar and align the center of the wheel hub with the spindle ports on each side of the rear frame arms.
-
4
Insert the threaded end of the spindle through the spindle port on the right frame arm. Twist the spindle clockwise by hand as you push it all the way through the opposite side of the hub and through the port on the left frame arm. The wheel will remain in place without the need of the pry bar.
-
5
Thread the spindle nut clockwise onto the outer end of the spindle. Tighten the nut clockwise with a standard-gauge wrench. Tighten the brake caliper-mounting bolt clockwise. The bolt was loosened previously, during removal of the rear wheel.
-
6
Loop the upper and lower ends of the drive chain onto the rear sprocket. Hold the ends of the chain with one hand and insert the master link pins into the ends of the chain from behind. Put the master link plate on the link pins. Install the link clip on the pins with pliers, making sure the closed end of the clip is facing the front of the motorcycle.
-
7
Slide the left muffler onto the end of the left exhaust pipe. Tighten the muffler-to-pipe bracket with a small wrench or screwdriver, depending on the particular bracket. Tighten the previously loosened left pillion footrest nut clockwise.

Tips & Warnings
Actuate the rear brake several times before riding in order to re-charge the hydraulic circuit with fluid.
