How to Take off Parental Controls

The Windows operating system has built-in parental controls that allow a system administrator to place restrictions on other user accounts. For example, a parent can limit the amount of time a child is able to use the computer and also block access to websites with questionable content. If your children no longer use the computer that has parental controls activated, you can remove the feature by turning off the option on the user account settings window.

Instructions

    • 1

      Click "Start," then "Control Panel."

    • 2

Click "Set up parental controls for any user" under "User Accounts and Family Safety."

    • 3

Click the account under "Users" that has parental controls activated.

    • 4

Click the radio button next to "Off" under "Parental Controls" and click "OK."
