Instructions

    • 1

Measure the width and depth of the window, using a tape measure. Decide whether to mount the roller blind outside the window frame or inside the frame or recess of the window. Most roller blinds come in several standard sizes, so buy the blind that best fits the window size. For outside mounts, the blind should be slightly wider than the window to fit properly.

    • 2

Place the roller blind across the top of the window in the correct position for hanging. Straighten the blind, using a carpenter's spirit level to guide you. Use a pencil line to mark the position of the brackets at each end of the roller blind on the window frame or wall.

    • 3

Hold each bracket against the corresponding pencil line. Insert a pencil through the screw holes in each bracket to mark the position of the screw holes on the window frame or wall.

    • 4

Drill pilot holes into the wall or window frame, using the penciled screw holes you made in Step 3 to get the correct position. Use a power drill with the appropriate wood or masonry drill bit.

    • 5

Screw each bracket into the window frame or wall with the supplied screws and a screwdriver. Check the brackets for straightness with the carpenter's spirit level.

    • 6

Clip the plastic inserts supplied with the roller blind into the socket in each bracket.

    • 7

Snap the roller blind into the plastic inserts. The roller blind will have a pin on each end that extends and clicks into the plastic inserts.

Tips & Warnings

  • Roller blinds usually come with wood or masonry screws. For drywall surfaces or uPVC or metal window frames, buy specialty screws from a home improvement center or hardware store.
