How to Adjust the Thermocouple on a KitchenAid Oven
If your KitchenAid oven isn't heating properly, first check the thermocouple bulb to make sure it is tightly screwed in within the oven. The thermocouple bulb is used to control the temperature of the pilot flame in the heating unit. To check and adjust the thermocouple bulb in your oven, you must remove the back panel from your oven and disconnect the bulb from the mounting plate and wire terminals. Does this Spark an idea?

Move your oven away from the wall and unplug the power cord from the outlet.

Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the screws from the back access panel. Remove the back panel and set it aside.

Use a flashlight to help you see inside the back of the oven. Follow the gas line to the heat unit and you will see the thermocouple bulb and the pilot flame.

Remove the screws on the mounting plate holding the thermocouple bulb. Disconnect the wires from the thermocouple bulb.

Twist the thermocouple bulb counterclockwise to remove it, then adjust the bulb back into place by twisting it clockwise. Make sure the bulb is tightly screwed in.

Unscrew the bulb and replace it with a new one if it doesn't work. Connect the wires back into the thermocouple bulb, then insert the screws in the mounting plate.

Place the back panel onto the oven and secure with the screws. Plug the power cord back into the AC wall outlet and move your oven back in place.
