Insert the battery into your phone. Remove the battery cover by pressing the release latch to expose the battery compartment at the rear of the phone. Insert the battery so the metal pins of the battery rest on the metallic plates inside the battery compartment. The battery will only sit inside the compartment if inserted in the proper direction, so keep trying gently until the battery fits into the compartment.

Insert the SIM card into the phone. Take out the battery from the battery compartment. Underneath the battery, you will find the slot for the SIM card. Slide the card into the phone with the gold plates facing downward. Place the battery back inside the phone and close the cover.

Make a phone call. Tap the phone icon on your handset and enter the number you wish to dial. Make sure you enter the area code along with the phone number. Press the left "Call" key on the phone to make the phone call. Press the right "Call disconnect" key to disconnect your call.

Compose a text message. Tap the Message icon to open the "Message" menu, and select "New text message." Enter the text and tap the "Send" icon to send the message.

Browse the Internet. Tap the Internet icon to open the WAP browser on your phone. Enter a website link in the URL field and tap "Connect" to open that webpage.

Access multimedia files, such as images, videos and songs, on your phone. Tap the "Multimedia" icon of the phone and select the appropriate option to open images, songs or videos on the phone. You can also access the phone camera or movie maker from the Multimedia menu.

Add new contacts or edit existing contacts on your phone. Tap the "Menu" key and open "Contacts." Tap the "Options" icon to add new contacts to the phone, copy contacts from phone to SIM or vice versa, and transfer contacts via Bluetooth. To edit an existing contact, select it and then tap the "Options" menu to view the contact editing options.
