Fitting Instructions for a Fiesta Tow Bar

A Ford Fiesta European model is shown above.

The Ford Fiesta is a subcompact three-door and five-door hatchback and a four-door sedan with European designing. The Ford Fiesta is distributed in Europe and it has been released to the North American market in 2011. If you want to tow a trailer or another vehicle with your Ford Fiesta, you will need to install a tow bar with the use of a tow bar kit. To properly fit a tow bar to your Ford Fiesta use the following instructions.

• Tow bar kit
• Wrench

Instructions

1. 

   Park the Fiesta before fitting the tow bar to your vehicle.

   Park your Fiesta on level ground.

2. 

   Walk to the rear of the Fiesta to work on the exaust.

   Lower the spare wheel from the rear of your Fiesta and lower the exhaust by pulling off the rubber exhaust hanger.

3. Pull and detach the Fiesta's trunk floor trim and detach all three fasteners form the heat shield to take off the heat shield.

4. Pull out all four blanking disks from the Fiesta's frame and put the bushes, which are included in the Ford Fiesta tow bar kit, onto either end of the frame. Put the spreader plates, which are also included in the Ford Fiesta tow bar kit, over the bushes, and then detach the mastic compound located below them.

5. Place the bolts loosely into the holes on the spreader plates using your hands and then attach them to the crossbar with large flat washers. These parts are included in the Ford Fiesta tow bar kit.

6. 

   Connect the crossbar to your Fiesta.

   Place the bolts and disk spring washers loosely to the center part and crossbar -- also known as the cross tube -- using your hands and then tighten all of the bolts with a wrench.

7. 

   Assemble the exaust hanger and spare wheel at the rear of the Ford Fiesta.

   Reattach the trunk trim, heat shield, exhaust hanger, and spare wheel on your Fiesta.
