How to Mount LP Tanks to Stanchions thumbnail
There are dedicated LP mounting brackets that attach to rails and stanchions.

Stanchions are the upright posts that span railings, fences or deck guard rails. These upright posts or boards make handy mounting locations for LP tanks used for barbecue grills or propane powered lights. There are many aftermarket mounts designed to attach to structures like stanchions that cradle and hold the LP tanks. Install one of these mounts and place the tanks into the cradles for stability and prevention of rolling or damaged LP tanks. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the distance between the stanchion mounting brackets on the back of the unit. Mark the distance on a stanchion using the pencil.

    • 2

Drill out the screw holes for the LP tank mount on the stanchion. Place the stanchion bracket-mount next to the holes and align the holes on the stanchion to the holes on the brackets.

    • 3

Screw the mount to the stanchion.

    • 4

Open the metal collars and slide the LP tank down into the mount, so the collars hug the tank barrel. Tighten the collars and lock them into position, thus securing the tank to the stanchion. Be sure the tank valve and nozzle are on the top of the tank.
