Specifications for the Honda XR80R

Honda began producing motorcycles in 1970 and its first model was a small off-road bike named "Elsinore." Today, Honda produces an extensive line of dirt bikes engineered for different uses. The Honda XR series went into production for the 1984 model year. The XR80R was a dual sport dirt bike, which meant that it could be ridden both on and off road.

Engine

The Honda XR80R has an air-cooled 80cc four-stroke single-cylinder engine. The cylinder bore has a diameter of 1.8 inches while the stroke piston was 1.7 inches long. This engine's compression ratio is 9.7:1. The induction system of this dual sport bike uses a piston valve carburetor with a diameter of 1 inch. This bike features a capacitor discharge ignition system. The standard transmission of the XR80R is a five-speed manual that has a chain final drive.

Chassis

The Honda XR80R's front suspension is a leading-axle cartridge fork that allows the front axle to travel a maximum of 5.5 inches. The rear suspension of this dual sport bike is a pro-link Showa single shock that allows the rear axle to travel a maximum of 4.3 inches. Both the front and the rear brakes are expanding drums. The front rim has a diameter of 16 inches; the rear rim has a diameter of 14 inches.

The wheelbase of the XR80R is 47.6 inches wide and its seat sits 28.6 inches off the ground. This dirt bike clears the ground by 8.1 inches. The rake -- the angle between the headset tube and a vertical line -- is 27.57 inches. The dry weight of the XR80R is 154 pounds. The motorcycle can carry 1.5 gallons of fuel.
