How to Create & Print Free Christmas Cards
Shopping, get-togethers and gift-giving often make Christmas a hectic time of the year. Thankfully, you can cross buying Christmas cards off your to-do list by creating and printing your own. You don't need to purchase software to make greeting cards. Free online tools can help you accomplish your goal; simply choose the tool that works best for you. Some options let you customize all the details of the card, while others let you change parts of it.

Select a greeting card template from a free online resource such as Greetings Island. Navigate to the website and choose "Cards," then "Holidays." Choose a template from the selection of Christmas cards. From the "Select page to edit" section, pick the page you want to work on: "Inside, "Back" or "Front."

Click the "Add Photo" box on the left to add your own image and double-click the photo in the dialog box. Click "Add Seal" if you want to add a sticker to your Christmas card. Click "Text" to add a message. Click inside the text box, enter your message and apply any text formatting using the boxes on the left.

Click the "Print" icon and select a print size in the pop-up box. The Print dialog box opens. To print the cards, set your paper in the printer tray and click "OK." The outer pages print first. Flip the printed page over and return it to the printer. Click "Next" in the pop-up box to print the inside pages.

Go to DLTK's Custom Printable Greeting Cards website and select "Seasonal Cards." Click "Next Step - Choose Theme" and select "Christmas" from the Holidays section. Click "Next Step - Choose Format."

Select "Color" or "Black and White." Click "Next Step - Choose Image" and pick from the featured images. Press "Next Step - Choose Title" and pick a heading for the front of your card. Click "Next Step - Input Message."

Type your message in the text box. Press "Next Step - Format Your Message" to customize the font, text size, color and alignment for your text. Click the "Create Card" button to generate the card.

Place your paper into the printer and select "File" and "Page Setup" from the menu. Set the margins to "0" or the minimum setting for your printer and click "OK."

Select "File" and "Print" from the menu. Click "OK" in the Print dialog box to print the card.
HP Creative Studio for Home

Go to HP Creative Studio for Home. Click "Project Types" and from the drop-down menu select "Cards & Stationery." Select "Greeting Cards," "Holidays/Seasons" and "Christmas/Holidays." Go to the "Filter by" section. Check "Free" and "Use Your Photos" and pick a design.

Highlight the existing text in the text box. Type over it to customize your greeting. Choose a font, text size and color and click "Accept" when you are finished.

Click on "Import Photos." Select the location of the image you want to retrieve. To import an image from your computer, double-click your file in the dialog box. To get one from Snapfish, enter your username and password. Drag the image you imported onto the card. It resizes automatically.

Click the "Preview and Print" button at the top, right. Select "Properties" or "Preferences" in the Print dialog box. Choose the "Layout" tab and select "Borderless 5x7" for the paper size. Set the orientation to "Landscape" and click "OK" twice to print the Christmas card. Click "Preview and Print" on the right on website.

Tips & Warnings
Print a test copy of your card on printer paper first to save photo paper or cardstock.
