How to Remove Brown Fiber Pot Garden Plants
Brown fiber garden pots are biodegradable plant pots made from natural fibers such as wood or peat moss. The pots allow air and water to flow through the wall of the pot to reach the roots. Some fiber pots are also permeable for water, so there is no need for drainage holes. Removing plants in these pots is a simple process, though their biodegradable nature does allow you to plant them directly into the soil where they will break down. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Insert the sharp edge of a hand spade between the potting soil in the fiber pot and the pot wall. This will loosen the soil from the sides of the pot, making the plant easier to remove.
-
2
Turn the fiber pot on its side. If you recently watered the plant, the pot may be less stiff, so turn it over carefully.

3
Hold the pot in one hand and grasp the plant by its base in the other hand. Shake the fiber pot gently as you ease the plant out of the pot. The root ball and most of the soil will come out with the plant.

4
Discard the fiber pot in the recycling bin. You can also bury it in your compost heap or in the garden, where it will decompose over time.
