How to Install a Kitchen Trash Can
Even if it's well designed, your kitchen trash can can quickly become an eyesore with ketchup stains and coffee grinds smeared across its lid, and it can just as easily be a source of unpleasant smells. Even if well maintained, a trashcan still takes up valuable floor space. By installing it under your counter, though, you'll remedy all these problems, saving space and hiding waste. The installation process entails a little cabinetry craftsmanship, but even an amateur can get it right with a little persistence and instruction. Does this Spark an idea?

Remove your cabinet door being careful not to lose the screws. If you're install a sliding trashcan, remove the hinges from the cabinet. Otherwise, leave them on cabinet door.

Affix the sliding mechanism to your cabinet wall if you're using a sliding trashcan. Ensure that it's centered and level.

Attach the trashcan to the cabinet door. Place the door face down on the floor and put the trashcan on its back. Screw it into place. If you're using a sliding trashcan, then pull the mechanism out as far as you can and attach the door upright.

Reattach the door to the cabinet. Check the door horizontally and vertically with the level to ensure that it's attached properly. If you've installed a sliding trashcan, skip this step or it will interfere with your ability to pull the trashcan out.

Place a garbage bag in the trashcan. You're ready to deposit waste.
