If your hammock is not properly hung, it may sag all the way to the ground or may come loose from the suspension posts (trees). There are few things to consider when hanging your hammock, such as the necessary distance between suspension posts, the strength of the posts and suspension links and the height from the ground. Instructions

    • 1

Determine the needed distance between trees or hanging posts. Lay the hammock flat on the ground. Measure the distance, length-wise, with a measuring tape between two suspension rings at either end. Add a foot to this measurement and you have the correct distance between trees to hang the hammock.

    • 2

Seek out a spot to hang the hammock. With the necessary distance between trees now on hand, scour your property, armed with a measuring tape, for the perfect spot to hang the hammock.

    • 3

Drill a hole completely through each tree, 5 to 6 feet above the ground.

    • 4

Insert a threaded eye bolt (looped end) into the drilled holes. Fasten a nut and washer on the back end of the eye bolt to secure it to each tree.

    • 5

Connect the hammock's suspension rings to the eye bolts via the connecting link chain connector. Once connected, test the hammock out.
