How to Store Vintage Linens
Vintage linens can tell a story about people and history just as a picture or photograph can. The improper storing of such linens is like the improper storage of priceless paintings and other fine works of art: It will lead to their quick deterioration. Lay a piece of acid-free tissue paper in front of you. Take a vintage linen piece and lay it on top of the tissue paper. Lay another piece of acid-free tissue paper on top of the vintage linen.

Roll the piece of linen into a loose cylindrical shape, tucking in the tissue paper as you go. Place the piece of linen in a clean plastic tub. Repeat this process with all subsequent pieces of linen. Rolling prevents deep creases and wrinkles over time.

Place all your pieces in the plastic tub and put the lid on top, locking it. This will keep out dust and moths. Place the plastic tub in an area out of direct sunlight, such as under your bed.

Tips & Warnings
Don't store antique linens in plastic bags or wood, as the acids and gases can destroy linens.
