How to Cook Coffee in a Paper Bag
Make coffee to start out your day on a campsite. You don't need fancy, expensive camping cookery to achieve this. Water can be boiled right on the campfire using a paper bag. Use bags without a wax coating to keep the wax from absorbing into the water and bottled water to ensure purity and safety for drinking. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Unwaxed paper lunch bag
- Bottled water
- 2 disposable cups, paper or plastic
- Instant coffee
- Spoon
- Campfire with hot coals

Fill the paper bag a quarter full with bottled water. Place the bag on hot coals in the fire but not directly in high flames.

Prepare your coffee cup by spooning in a serving size of instant coffee, per package directions, in the bottom.

When the water in the bag begins to boil, carefully dip the second cup into the bag to scoop up some water. Pour the hot water into the cup. Repeat the process if you need more water. Stir the water and instant coffee and let cool a bit before you drink.
