How Do I Mount My Homemade Pop Filter?
A pop filter is a piece of audio equipment that fits to a microphone and filters out "hard" vocal sounds such as the hard "P" sound in "pound" or the hard "C" sound in "crack." Homemade pop filters can be made with a nylon hose wrapped over an embroidery hoop. Once the filter is created, you need to build something to connect the filter to the microphone. For only a few dollars, you can make a mount for your filter that can be bent into position without any hassle.

1
Cut a long piece of wire from the hanger using the wire snips.
-
2
Tape one end of the hanger to the homemade pop filter. Make sure that you do not leave any of the wire exposed so that you do not get cut.
-
-
3
Tape the plastic clip to the other end of wire. Once again, do not leave any piece of the wire exposed.
-
4
Tape all of the exposed wire. This will give the mount a uniform look while also keeping you safe.
-
5
Clip the plastic clip to the microphone stand. Using your hands, bend the wire until the pop filter is only two-inches away from the microphone, which is the distance recommended for any pop filter.
