How to Cut Baseboards With a Power Miter Saw
Baseboards come in a variety of colors and materials and are often used to add a bit of character to a room. As their name implies, baseboards are installed at the base of the walls and are used as attractive borders that usually run the entire length of the wall in question. Before you can install baseboards, however, you will need to cut them down to the needed size. You may also need to cut the ends at a specific angle in order to wrap them around corners. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Measure out the length of the wall you wish to attach a baseboard to with your measuring tape. Make a note of the dimensions.
-
2
Measure out the same distance on the baseboard. Make a mark on the board where you wish to make the cut.

3
Place the baseboard on the miter saw against the guide rail, then swivel the saw horizontally left or right as needed to get the correct angle for the cut. Or, if cutting a corner angle, lay the baseboard with the wall-side up and swivel the saw vertically left or right to the desired angle.

Tips & Warnings
If you are measuring for an angle cut for a corner, make sure you extend the baseboard enough beyond the wall that it can meet up with the other piece of baseboard laid perpendicular to it.
