KitchenAid Water Dispenser Repair
KitchenAid is a kitchen appliance company owned by Whirlpool Corporation. The company's refrigerators are mainly re-badged Whirlpool appliances. The water dispenser located on the door panel of many KitchenAid refrigerators may occasionally malfunction, providing no water or leaking into the collection pan beneath the nozzle. Repairing the problem involves checking the control panel before draining and purging the water system. You might want to repair your water dispenser yourself if your refrigerator is outside its warranty period. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Make sure the refrigerator door is completely closed and the water dispenser controls are operational. The dispenser won't work until the refrigerator is closed. Press and hold the "Door Alarm" button for three seconds. Tap "Freezer +" until "SAB" appears on the display. Press "Refrigerator +" until "Off" appears on the screen. Press and hold "Door Alarm" for an additional three seconds. "SAB" or "Sabbath" mode makes the refrigerator comply to Jewish kosher regulations, disabling the water dispenser and other features.

2
Run the dispenser intermittently into the container, five seconds on then five seconds off for two minutes. This measure clears any trapped air from the pipes. Trapped air is often responsible for leaks or spurts from the dispenser nozzle. Water plants or make coffee with the liquid in the container.

Remove the water filter from inside the refrigerator compartment and try the dispenser. The filter is to blame if the water supply improves. Swap the filter for a suitable replacement and repeat step two. The water filter is usually located in the upper right corner on the back wall of the refrigerator. Disconnect it by turning it counterclockwise. See Tips for more.

4
Go around the back of the refrigerator and straighten the water supply hose. A kink, twist or sharp turn will stop water entering the refrigerator from the mains. Turn the shutoff valve or lever to the "Open" position. Lift any appliances or cupboards off the supply line and check the pipe is connected to a cold water supply.
