Clean the water intakes, if there is continuous beeping.

The Sea-Doo range of watercraft is one of the BRP brands. BRP is also responsible for producing the Evinrude and Johnson boat motors, and other recreational products. As of early 2011, the latest Sea-Doos are the first watercraft with brakes. Problems with a 1996 Sea-Doo may include the engine not starting, the engine overheating, pinging and a lack of acceleration. BRPs includes an audible beep system in its watercraft that can be used to help troubleshoot them.

Listen for beeps if the engine doesn't start. Two short beeps while installing the safety lanyard confirm the safety lanyard is connected properly, and the watercraft can be started. One long beep when installing the lanyard, or pressing the "Start/Stop" button means there's a bad connection, or the wrong lanyard is being used. Replace the safety lanyard by placing it firmly over the switch. Look for salt water in the cap and remove it. Check to make sure you're using the correct lanyard.

Clean the water intakes, if beeping is continuous while the Sea-Doo is running. The watercraft uses water for cooling and weeds, mud and other debris can block the system. Flush the system by attaching the coupler hose, if you see debris around the water inlets.

Replace the gasoline if the engine pings or knocks. It's likely poor quality gasoline with a low octane rating that's causing this. Siphon and replace the gasoline, if you experience a lack of acceleration too, water may have gotten into the fuel.
