How to Use Pva Nets

Catch your own bounty of fish by using PVA net bags to create your own bait.

PVA nets, or net bags, are commonly used in carp fishing because the water soluble material will eventually break down completely once it is thrown into the water. Also known as polyvinyl acetate, PVA mesh allows you to create your own lures and baits for carp fishing by making customized net bags from the material. Through the use of PVA nets and net bags, you can lure, and hopefully catch, the most carp you can during fishing excursions.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut the PVA mesh to the appropriate size. For a golf-ball-sized pellet bag, cut an oval with a 5-inch diameter.

    • 2

Fill the center of the PVA oval with the pellets or bait you want to use. A common carp bait is a pellet mix of bloodworm and shrimp.

    • 3

Shape the PVA mesh into the desired ball shape you want for your pellet.

    • 4

Tie off the top of the PVA net bag. Push the hook into the pellet so it will be hidden from the carp. When the PVA dissolves upon casting, the pellet ball will remain in bait form.
