How do I Install an Ungo Alarm?

Keeping your car safe from break-ins and vandalism can be tough in certain areas. If you are having trouble, installing a car alarm can deter individuals from targeting your vehicle, keeping your belongings and your car safe from thieves. The Clarion company produces a line of alarms called the Ungo alarm system which you can install on your vehicle yourself. By connecting the wires of the devices to the proper locations on your vehicle, you will be able to arm the alarm.

Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect the battery connections for your vehicle. Do not attempt to wire this device while the power is connected. Connect the solid red wire from the back of the Ungo system to a constant power source. The best way to do this is to run the wire directly to the positive terminal on your battery and wrap it around.

Connect the brown wire coming from the back of the main security unit to the red wire coming from the siren. Connect the other wire from the siren, which will be black, to a bare piece of metal on the vehicle's chassis by wrapping it around.

    • 3

Connect the yellow wire on the back of the alarm system to the positive terminal on your ignition switch. This will allow the alarm to sound off if someone attempts to start the car without a key.

    • 4

Connect the black ground wire from the back of the security system to a piece of bare metal as you did in Step 2 for the ground wire from the siren.

    • 5

Connect the violet wire to the positive input on the door switch that controls the dome lights in your vehicle. Connect the green wire to the negative input on the same switch. These connections will sound the alarm when the doors are opened and the light will turn on when the alarm is armed.
